Call for Action! Express of Interest for restoration of the Silver Streak!

 In Ida Bay Railway Insider
Not the Silver Streak (1976) Directed by Arthur Hiller and starring by Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor, and Jill Clayburgh; nor the Silver Streak (1934) Directed by Tommy Atkins and starring by Charles Starrett, Sally Blane, Hardie Albright, William Farnum, Irving Pichel, Arthur Lake, and other famous actors and actresses, but the Silver Streak train at the Ida Bay Railway.

According to “12CSVT”*, the Silver Streak was originally from the Lake Margaret Tramway and initially preserved by DVR member Ted Lidster. It originally had side loader bus style bodywork, but whilst in storage, the original bodywork deteriorated to such an extent it was demolished, leaving just the under frame. The current body was home-built by TTMS member David Beck, hence the “Beck” plate on the grill.

Over years, the train was teared apart and needs a full restoration, so that it could be put back on track again.

If there is any individuals or groups interested to set the history and take the restoration project, please send message to [email protected] with your proposal of time line and budget required for completion of the mission.
